RESOURCES

The Black Lab hosts several resources that are cutting-edge and vital to new research in the Center for Human-Computer Interaction. This page details those resources and how to reserve them using the HCI Equipment Reservation system.

Black Lab

Users of the HCI Equipment Reservation system are expected to make reservations for the specific resources they will be using (for instance, the Gigapixel Display and the Vicon Tracking System). There is one special exception, the Black Lab Curtain Area For Experiment resource. Only reserve this resource if you are running an experiment in the Black Lab curtain area and need the whole curtain area. When making any reservation, be sure to check all other reservations for conflicts.

If a user wishes to change the configuration of one of the following resources, they must contact the Black Lab Committee first for permission.

Audio Capture System

Includes the sound mixer, conference microphone, wireless receiver, wireless headsets, and Alesis audio capture system. If you want to book individual pieces send an email to the Black Lab Committee.

	Gigapixel Display

HMD (Head Mounted Display)

Includes display, control box, and cable for connecting the display to the control box.

Intersense System

The tracked space immediately in front of the VisWalls.

Philips Plasma TV

Mobile Equipment

For mobile equipment, users are expected to first make the proper reservation using the reservation system and then to physically contact a member of the Black Lab Committee to retrieve the equipment.
